As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • I have reviewed the submission categories as listed in the author guidelines.
  • All files must be anonymized and uploaded separately under their specific type.
  • The submission files are in OpenOffice or Word format. (PDF is not accepted)
  • Text is single-spaced and in one of the following fonts: (12pt) Times New Roman, (11pt) Georgia, (11pt) Calibri, (11pt) Arial.
  • Submission has been formatted to the current APA 7th edition publication standards. Any submission incorrectly formatted will not be accepted for review.
  • All tables, charts, and graphs are indicated in the main article file where they are to be placed. Each type are saved as their own separate file & you will be asked to upload them individually in the next step.
  • Has ChatGPT been used at any point in this research? If yes, indicate how it has been used in the 'Comments for Editor' below.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).

Submissions are open to manuscripts that are Canadian and international in scope. The Journal is multi-sectoral and welcomes articles that deal with career development research.  Authors are encouraged to submit articles dealing with career development in the corporate, non-profit, secondary education, post-secondary education and government sectors.

Additional Information for Contributors:

Evaluation of manuscripts include criteria such as:

  • significance and currency of the topic;
  • contribution to new knowledge in the field;
  • appropriateness of the methodology or approach;
  • canadian or international focus;
  • and clarity of presentation.

Dependent on topic, reviewer availablity, and submission rates, the review process on average takes 2-3 months from submission to publication decision. If approved for publication, articles are slotted into the next issue with available category slots.

All uploaded files must be anonymize (how to ensure all files are anonymized), formatted to current APA 7th edition publication standards, & have correct & working DOI and URL links (see submission checklist).
