Réalités rurales : combler le fossé de la diversité et soutenir l'inclusion dans des contextes difficiles

Partout, mais surtout dans les communautés rurales et isolées, les lieux de travail ne sont pas toujours accueillants pour tous les membres de ces communautés. De nombreuses personnes sont systématiquement marginalisées, ce qui se traduit par une sous-représentation de certains groupes dans l'emploi local. Cet article présente les résultats d'une recherche mixte menée en Colombie-Britannique, qui identifie 20 facteurs ayant une incidence sur l'emploi des membres sous-représentés de la communauté, en mettant particulièrement l'accent sur les peuples autochtones et les personnes vivant avec un handicap. Sur la base des connaissances et des expériences des demandeurs d'emploi, des employés, des employeurs et des prestataires de services communautaires, des recommandations sont formulées afin d'aider les CDP, les employeurs et les décideurs politiques à faciliter un accès plus équitable à l'emploi pour tous.
